About Sound Liaison – Music First, Captured with Care in High-End Audio

Sound Liaison was founded by recording engineer Frans de Rond and bassist/producer Peter Bjørnild, two people brought together by a shared love of music and sound. At the heart of Sound Liaison is a simple idea: to bring listeners closer to the music they love—through recordings that are both honest and beautifully made.

We aim to build a bridge—a liaison—between the musicians in the studio and the people who truly listen. Every recording starts with the music itself: the emotion, the interplay, the atmosphere. Our role is to capture those moments as naturally and faithfully as possible, using high-end recording techniques that preserve the integrity of the performance.

Alongside carefully produced studio sessions, we also organize special live recording sessions with an audience, recorded in a professional studio environment. Using a minimal-microphone approach, and the best of both analog and digital tools, we strive to maintain the warmth, depth, and detail that make each performance come alive.

All of our recordings are available in Hi-Res Audio formats (WAV, FLAC, DSD) through the Sound Liaison music store, offering a listening experience that’s both intimate and technically refined—ideal for those who appreciate sound as much as they love music.

A Thoughtful Approach to High-End Audio Recording

Frans de Rond, co-founder of Sound Liaison and head engineer at Heuvellaan Studios in Hilversum, brings many years of experience in both music and audio. With a background in electronics and a formal education in double bass and recording engineering at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Frans combines musical sensitivity with technical precision.

He is known for his subtle, natural approach to recording, allowing the music to breathe and unfold without interference. His goal is not to impress with technology, but to serve the music—by capturing it in a way that feels clear, open, and emotionally present.

Each recording is carefully crafted, using a minimalist setup, careful mic placement, and high-end gear—not to show off, but to let the listener experience the performance as if they were in the room.
